秩父銘仙◇シジミのイヤリング(green) / Shell Earrings (Handmade)

秩父銘仙と蜆（シジミ）の貝殻で作ったイヤリングです。
小さくぷっくりとした蜆が、秩父銘仙の光沢を愛らしく表現しています。

秩父銘仙は埼玉県西部「秩父地方」の伝統的な絹織物で、大正時代から昭和初期にかけて爆発的に流行しました。
絹糸を染めてから織る秩父銘仙は、独特の光を放ちます。
100年以上続くその技法は高く評価され、国指定の伝統的工芸品に選定されています。

※一点ずつ手作りしているため、それぞれ柄の出方が異なり、また蜆の貝殻を使用してますので、形状や大きさに多少の違いが生じます。

The small, rounded shells gently highlight the soft luster of the fabric.

Chichibu-Meisen is a traditional silk textile from the Chichibu region of Saitama, Japan. Popular in the early 20th century, it is known for its distinctive texture created by dyeing the threads before weaving. The technique has been preserved for over 100 years and is recognized as a Traditional Craft of Japan.

This piece combines natural shijimi shells once used for soup stock with small pieces of beautiful silk fabric, creating a tiny object that carries a touch of everyday Japanese tradition.
