埼玉県・秩父地方に伝わる絹織物。大正から昭和にかけて広く親しまれた、伝統的工芸品です。
舞鶴工房では、銘仙を用いた雑貨やアクセサリーの制作に加え、図案から手がけたオリジナルの銘仙反物も発表しています。

Chichibu Meisen is a traditional silk textile, widely loved from the Taisho to Showa eras in Japan.
At Maizuru Studio, we create accessories and small items using Chichibu Meisen, while also designing or producing original Chichibu Meisen.

木版染めは、古代インダス文明に起源を持つと言われています。
インドの伝統では「彫る職人」、「捺す職人」と、分業で制作されることが多いのですが、舞鶴工房では印章彫刻の技術を応用し、自ら木版を彫り、染めています。
型染めは、古くから用いられてきた染色技法のひとつです。

模様を切り抜いた型紙を布の上に重ねて染料を刷り込むことで、模様を浮かび上がらせます。
Woodblock printing is believed to have originated in the ancient Indus Valley civilization.

In traditional Indian practice, carving and printing are typically done by separate artisans, though at Maizuru Studio, however, we carve each block by hand, using techniques derived from traditional seal engraving, and do the printing ourselves.
Stencil dyeing is one of Japan’s traditional textile techniques.

It involves placing a paper with cut-out patterns over the fabric and brushing dye through the holes to create the design.

インドネシア発祥のろうけつ染めです。

ろうけつ染め技法は世界中に存在しますが、バティックでは、チャンティン（ペンのような道具）やキャップ（銅製のスタンプ）といった道具を用いて蝋を塗り、繊細な模様を描く点が特徴です。

舞鶴工房では、伝統と遊び心を融合させ、静かな祈りを込めて一つ一つ手染めしています。

"Batik" is a wax-resist dyeing method that originated in Indonesia.

While wax-resist techniques exist around the world, batik is distinct in its use of tools such as the canting (a pen-like instrument) and cap (a copper stamp) to apply wax and create intricate designs.

At Maizuru Kobo, each piece is hand-dyed with quiet intention—bridging tradition with a playfulness.
