木版染めのポーチです。
「宝尽くし」という縁起の良い宝物を集めた吉祥文様をもとに、秩父の風土に合わせて再構築しました。
大地の記憶、人の営み、自然の便り──地質・自然・産業をテーマに、秩父が育んだ8つの宝を選んでいます。

宝尽くしは、室町時代に中国から伝わった「八宝」を日本風にアレンジした文様で、幸福や長寿、富などの願いが込められています。

本品は、手彫りの木製スタンプを彫り、一つひとつ布に捺印した後、型染めで色を重ねて仕上げています。
手作業ならではの滲みやかすれを含め、ひとつとして同じものはありません。

木版染めは古くから続く技法で、現在でもインドをはじめ様々な地域で受け継がれています。
素材には、環境に配慮した無漂白コットンを使用しています。

Handmade pouch using Japanese textile, created with woodblock printing.

The design is inspired by Takara-zukushi, a traditional Japanese motif of auspicious treasures.
Reinterpreted for Chichibu, it reflects the land, nature, and local industries through eight symbolic elements.

Each piece is printed by hand using hand-carved wooden stamps, followed by dyeing to layer the colors.
Slight variations, such as blurring and unevenness, are part of the charm of handmade work—making every piece unique.

Woodblock printing is a traditional technique with a long history, still practiced in regions such as India today.
The fabric used is unbleached cotton, chosen with environmental consideration.
