秩父銘仙と蜆（シジミ）の貝殻で作った根付けです。
小さくぷっくりとした蜆が、秩父銘仙の光沢を愛らしく表現しています。

秩父銘仙は埼玉県西部「秩父地方」の伝統的な絹織物で、大正時代から昭和初期にかけて爆発的に流行しました。
絹糸を染めてから織る秩父銘仙は、独特の光を放ちます。
100年以上続くその技法は高く評価され、国指定の伝統的工芸品に選定されています。

Netsuke is one of the traditional Japanese ornaments made mainly during the Edo period. Nowadays, it is used for key chains and decorative items.

Chichibu-Meisen is a traditional silk fabric from the Chichibu area of Saitama Prefecture, Japan.
It has a unique luster due to its manufacturing process.
The technique, which has remained unchanged for over 100 years, is highly regarded.

The small, round Shijimi shells cutely express the luster of Chichibu- Meisen.
The craft of wrapping Shijimi shells in cloth has been passed down in Japan for long ago.
These are Japanese-style accessories that add color to our life, using shells used to make soup stock and cloth scraps.
