【貝の口】とは、帯の結び方の１つで、男性の角帯や女性の半幅帯で使用されます。
いきなり秩父銘仙の反物は、ハードルが高い。
でも、ちょっとだけ持ち帰えりたい。
できれば、和風のまま。
しかも、普段使いできる形で。
そんな気持ちもあるのではないかなと思い作った、貝の口モチーフのブローチです。
Kai-no-Kuchi (literally meaning "clam's mouth") is one of the ways to tie the obi (kimono belt) when wearing a kimono or yukata. It can be used by both men and women.
Buying a bolt of Chichibu Meisen silk fabric or a kimono out of the blue can be a big step.
However, you might want to take a small piece home as a memento.
Ideally, something that retains the form of traditional Japanese clothing but can also be worn on a daily basis.
With that in mind, I created this shell-mouth motif brooch.
